Governor Otti Vows to End Divisive Governance in Abia State

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ending divisive and clannish governance in the state. Speaking at a thanksgiving service at the Wesley Methodist Church in Umuekwule Afugiri, Governor Otti stated that his government is focused on good governance and ensuring that the benefits of democracy are spread across the state for all citizens to enjoy.

Governor Otti emphasized that his administration is resolute about ending bad governance, corruption, and partisan politics, which have hindered the state's progress in the past. He reiterated that every citizen of Abia State is equal before God and deserves equal opportunities, regardless of their local government of origin or village.

The Governor also lamented that some past leaders of the state emerged through manipulation of the electoral process rather than the popular will of the people. He, however, expressed optimism that Abia people are now determined to install their leaders through the ballot box, ensuring that the state is governed by the people's choice.

Governor Otti's speech was met with applause from the congregation, who appreciated his commitment to good governance and inclusivity. The service also featured a sermon by the presiding pastor, Very Rev. Ogbonnaya Orji, who encouraged the people to anchor their faith in God, who changes not and guides in every situation.

The event was attended by top government functionaries, including the Lawmaker representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North & South Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha, the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Nmeregini, and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba PhD.

In conclusion, Governor Otti's speech reaffirms his administration's commitment to good governance, inclusivity, and ending divisive politics in Abia State. His resolve to ensure that leaders emerge through the popular will of the people is a welcome development, and his government's efforts to spread the benefits of democracy across the state are laudable. As Abia State moves forward, it is essential to sustain this momentum and entrench good governance, which will benefit all citizens.
