Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been sworn in as the
7th Governor of Ondo State, marking the beginning of his four-year term. The inauguration ceremony took place on February 24, 2025, at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital ¹.
Aiyedatiwa, who secured victory in the governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC), was administered the oath of office by the Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olusegun Odusola. His deputy, Olayide Adelami, was also sworn in during the ceremony.
In his inaugural address, Aiyedatiwa outlined his administration's key priorities, which include:
- *Our Ease Agenda*: Focusing on order, security, and the rule of law, as well as urban and rural development through agriculture and blue economy.
- *Revolutionary Technological Advancement and Industrialization*: Promoting technological advancement and industrialization to drive economic growth.
- *Efficient Healthcare and Socio-economic Welfare*: Improving access to quality healthcare and promoting socio-economic welfare.
- *Adequate Power and Affordable Energy*: Ensuring adequate power supply and affordable energy for residents.
- *Sustainable Infrastructural Development and Tourism*: Developing sustainable infrastructure and promoting tourism to drive economic growth.
- *Education Human Capital Development and Entrepreneurship*: Investing in education and human capital development to promote entrepreneurship and economic growth.
Aiyedatiwa also pledged to complete all ongoing infrastructure projects across the state, promote youth entrepreneurship, and foster a harmonious working relationship with the legislative and judicial arms of government ¹.
