Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Alleges Assassination Plot*

In a shocking revelation, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of plotting to assassinate her. The senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District made this allegation during a rally held to welcome her back home after an absence ¹.

According to Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio instructed Yahaya Bello to kill her, and this plot was revealed to her after Akpabio's initial attempt to recall her failed. She claims that Akpabio had promised to fund her recall, but when Governor Ododo expressed doubts about the feasibility of the recall, Akpabio allegedly instructed Yahaya Bello to ensure her assassination ².

The senator also stated that she had notified the Inspector General of Police about the alleged plot and had written to the authorities about the threat to her life. She emphasized that she is not afraid and will not be intimidated, saying, "I'm an Ebira woman. This is my land. I'm the daughter of the late Jimoh Abdul Akpoti. I know my roots; I'm not a bastard. I'm not afraid of anybody" ¹.

This allegation comes amidst a backdrop of political tensions in Kogi State, with the senator currently serving a six-month suspension. The Kogi State government had imposed a ban on political rallies and unregulated public gatherings, citing security concerns ².
