The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it has resolved the technical issues affecting the release of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results. Candidates who experienced difficulties in accessing their results can now re-check their results online.
How to Check Your WAEC Results
To check your 2025 WAEC results, follow these steps ¹ ²:
- *Online*: Visit WAEC's official website at (link unavailable), enter your examination number, select the examination year (2025), choose your examination type, enter your card serial number and PIN, and click "Submit" to view your result.
- *Via SMS*: Send an SMS in the format WAECExamNumberPINExamYear to 32327. This service costs ₦30 per SMS and is available on MTN, Glo, and Airtel networks.
- *Using the WAEC Mobile App*: Download the WAEC mobile app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, launch the app, and follow the prompts to input your exam number and PIN to view your result.
WAEC Results Statistics
According to WAEC's Head of National Office in Nigeria, Mr. Amos Dangut, a total of 1,969,313 candidates sat for the examination, with 77.06% of the results fully processed and published. However, 22.94% of the results are still pending due to ongoing validation processes ³.
Performance Highlights
- 38.32% of candidates earned credit and above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, marking a significant drop from the 72.12% success rate recorded in 2024.
- 87.24% of candidates obtained credit and above in at least five subjects, regardless of whether English Language and Mathematics were among them.
- 192,089 results are currently being withheld due to allegations of examination malpractice, involving infractions such as smuggling mobile phones into exam halls and circulating leaked question papers on social media.
