NNPC Restores Escravos–Lagos Pipeline After Explosion

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has successfully restored the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State, following an explosion on December 10, 2025. The pipeline, crucial for supplying gas to industrial users and power plants in southwestern Nigeria, is now fully operational.

NNPCL's Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, stated that the company immediately activated its emergency response, deploying multidisciplinary teams to secure, repair, and recommission the damaged section. The restoration was achieved through collaboration with host communities, regulators, security agencies, and partners, prioritizing safety and environmental protection ¹ ² ³.
