Nnamdi Kanu Appeals Life Sentence: What You Need to Know


The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has officially filed an appeal against the life sentence handed down by the Federal High Court in Abuja. On November 20, 2025, Justice James Omotosho convicted Kanu on seven terrorism-related counts, sentencing him to life imprisonment on four of those counts, 20 years on another, and 5 years on a final count, all running concurrently ¹ ².
