The Nigerian Army's 6 Brigade, Sector 3, has made significant strides in combating arms trafficking in Taraba State. In a series of intelligence-led operations, troops have recovered several weapons, including AK-47 rifles, machine guns, and ammunition ¹ ² ³.
The operations, carried out in collaboration with the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), have led to the arrest of suspected gunrunners and the seizure of weapons caches. In one instance, troops recovered six PKT machine guns, two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and ₦170,000 cash in Ibi Local Government Area ³.
The Commander of 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, commended the troops for their professionalism and swift response, urging them to sustain the operational momentum. He also appealed to the public to continue providing credible intelligence to support security efforts ¹ ².
