Suspected Fulani armed men attacked three communities in Kaduna State's Lere Local Government Area, killing four people and abducting 12 others, including ECWA Pastor Rev. Istifanus Dunga. The attack occurred around 10 p.m. on November 11, 2025, in Jantsauni, Mai Doki, and Maiyamma villages, leaving residents in deep mourning.
The victims killed were young men aged 27-30. The abductees include Pastor Dunga and 11 others, with no ransom demands made so far. A resident described the attackers, numbering in hundreds, surrounding houses and threatening residents ¹ ² ³.
The Federated Kurama Association has appealed for security intervention, citing the communities' devastation. Amnesty International has condemned the attack, urging the Nigerian government to protect vulnerable communities and bring perpetrators to justice ⁴ ⁵.
