Lagos Court Remands Olori Eso, Two Others Over Alleged Murder and Cultism

A Lagos State High Court has remanded Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Eso, and two others, Qudus Egbere and Sola Edun Tomiwa, over allegations of murder and involvement in cult-related activities. The defendants were arraigned before Justice Oyindamola Ogala on a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder, and membership of an unlawful society, specifically the Eiye Confraternity [1][2][3].

According to the prosecution, the defendants allegedly conspired to commit murder on July 31, 2024, at Moshalashi Street, Mushin, using machetes and firearms, killing Bolanle Yusuf and Yusuf Ramadan. The offences violate Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, and the state's anti-cultism law [1][2][3].
