President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid for 2027 seems like a strong contender

Leke Abejide, a representative from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), believes Tinubu will win more than 32 states if former President Goodluck Jonathan contests ¹.

Tinubu's consolidation of power is attributed to his deliberate political strategy, infrastructural delivery, and reform narrative. He's strengthened ties with governors, traditional rulers, and legislators across the six geopolitical zones, making his re-election bid challenging to stop ².

However, some opposition figures, like Professor Pat Utomi, argue that Tinubu's re-election is not guaranteed, citing widespread disapproval and loss of confidence in his administration. The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) also advises Tinubu to forget about re-election, pointing to his administration's poor performance ³.

The 2027 election will likely be a referendum on Tinubu's first term, testing whether Nigerians believe a change in leadership would improve their lives or derail progress.
